September 17, 2010
Dunlap Industries completed the acquisition of the High Country Archery building to be used as the new company distribution center. The current distribution center, located in the Flint Zipper building directly across the street from the new building, will be moved during the fall of 2010.
"The new facility will increase our total storage by several multiples", said Tom Acker, Plant Engineer, "with this faciity, we will be able to use vertical storage that will dramatically increase our inventory storage capacity."
The existing manufacturing operation will be moved into the Flint Zipper building. The current operation is located in a facility that pre-dates Dunlap Industries by many years.
"The Flint Zipper building has concrete floors and far better overhead electrical already in place", Acker said, "moving to the former distribution center will definitely increase productivity."
The move of the manufacturing facility will occur in stages during a slower period of customer ordering (between Thanksgiving and New Years) to be certain that customer orders will not be affected.
